The surrounding area of Koprivnica arounds in natural beauties and historical monuments offering different possibilities for recreation.

Koprivnica is a city with good sports infrastructure for achieving good sports results for young and professional athletes. More than 80 sports associations from the City of Koprivnica, which gather more than 4700 athletes, are members of the Sports Associations of the City of Koprivnica. There are more than 20 sport facilities in the town that are used by sport clubs and associations on daily basis. As part of the Sports Associations of the City of Koprivnica, there is also a small sports school for children from 3 to 10 years old where children pass the sports playroom with elements of sports. Koprivnica is the only town of that size in Croatia that has players in the national premier league in seven sports. Women handball is especially popular – the handball players of Podravka have been national champions for a number of years and once even European champions. The unavoidable football is also present and the popular „Slaven-Belupo“ was the finalist of the Croatian Cup 2007.
