The 16 months-long SportOverBorders project – leading by the Municipality of Hévíz from Hungary – started in May 2017. The project is funded under the specific objective Involvement of more social and institutional actors in cross-border cooperation, within INTERREG VA Hungary-Croatia Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2014-2020.
Sport does not recognize borders or national, geographical or even linguistic differences. Therefore, activities in this field are important means of connecting people living in the two sides of country borders. Thus, the main objective of the project is to connect people living either in Hungary or Croatia and to familiarize sport and love of sports with many people in different age groups in both countries.
In the frame of the project citizens can enjoy various colorful events provided by the partner cities with sport, cultural and gastronomic programs, while children can participate in training camps and apply for winning the challenge cup.
